Meibomian Gland Lid Plate PLUS
The Meibomian Gland Expression Lid Plate PLUS instrument can be positioned behind the anesthetized eyelid. When positioned behind the eyelid parallel to the meibomian glands, gentle digital pressure on the outer lid prompts meibomian expression. It is ergonomically angled to make it easy and comfortable for the doctor to utilize it in a natural position when expressing the meibomian glands with the use of the slit lamp.
With its 30mm ruler, the instrument can also be used to measure pupil size, distance between the upper and lower eyelids, iris diameter, ptosis, horizontal visible iris diameter (HVID), pterygium, pinguecula, outer canthus to cornea plane, and other measurements. It can also be used for eyelid eversion and scleral depression.
The clear acrylic plastic instrument should be cleaned with mild soap and water.
